2007 Team News
October 10. 2007
Rumor mill.
Couple of rumors floating around about us for 2008, here are the facts.
*
Dave Stokes - no longer with Power, playing with Keating's. --- this is
unfortunately accurate.
*
Power to merge with Rise. --- we are not merging with the Rise, we spoke
with them regarding each team's situation but no merger talks
transpired.
*
Players leaving to play with other teams, team folding, etc. --- Gary
Fiore has retired and Dave Stokes has left, they are the only changes to
report right now.
We are working on bringing in another ISC II caliber pitcher for our
staff. If and when we get one, we will post it here. We are
trying, its not easy.
If any of our players want any additional information, please contact
Derrick, Rob or Jerry.

Couldn't be any prouder of our team after this weekend. We played
the game the way it was meant to be played, good hitting, pitching and
defense. In the two games that determined our ISC II bid, we
outscored our opponents 11-0. We had a great comeback against both
CPI and Waterdown in our final two games on Saturday - losing to CPI in
the bottom of the last inning and beating Waterdown the same way.
Every team that we played this weekend was ranked ahead of us by the ISC.
Hopefully this should change soon.
Our victory against Midland on Sunday was phenomenal. Don't let
anyone tell you that it was a fluke - we dominated them. Sure they
are the better team and would win most of our matches but on this
particular Sunday they did not stand a chance.
We have attended about ten of these annual tournaments and are use to
getting beat up for three games and going home. Next year when
they talk about us they can append "last years finalist" to our resume.
Well done.

Another good showing by our team this weekend. Finally beat
Keating's after years of losing close games. This was also our
first playoff win at the MAFTL in a couple of years.
Our Travel League history indicates that we always win the games to get
to the playoffs and then get picked off on Sunday. This weekend is
a step in the right direction.
1st MAFTL Weekend May 18, 19, 20.
We are wearing the Black
uniforms / Grey Pants for Friday night's game against AQUA.
We will be wearing the Grey uniforms / Grey Pants for the first two
games on Saturday.
It is possible that we may wear the Red uniforms / White Pants on
Saturday night or Sunday.
Please bring all three uniforms and also bring your Yellow t-shirt.
We may let a MAFTL team "borrow" them for the weekend.
Please let Jerry or Eric know your status for Erie next weekend. We need to know if you cannot attend ASAP.

Great job winning the Foxy
tournament last weekend. It was fitting that Foxy's old team (Twin
Pines) played us in the final.
It was a honor to give the trophy to Mr. Fox.
